The 11th international Taiji festival and competition, one of the biggest Tai Chi competition in the world will be held in the city of Han Dan, the home town of Yang and Woo style Taiji. There were over 4000 enthusiasts and athletes from all over the world attended in previous competitions.
As well as demonstrations of Tai Chi Kung Fu from enthusiasts in China, it will also be attended by some of the world most famous masters, in various styles fo Taiji. Competition (all styles) consists of hand forms, weapons, pushing hands.
Handan is the home town of Yang Style Tai Chi and Woo Style Tai Chi Founder, the Great Yang Lu Chan, and Woo Yu Xiang. It is also one of the oldest city in the north of China, which is filled with culture and history.
The festival and competition consists of various styles of Taiji (Chen, Yang, Wu, Woo and Sun and many other smaller styles of Taiji), therefore enthusiasts of all level and disciplines are welcome to participate.
We will be meeting Tai Chi enthusiasts from different part of the world, sharing experiences and make friends with enthusiasts in China.
Participants have the option of competing in the competition or just simply come along as spectators, it will also be an eye opener for participants since the competition is anticipated to have over 3000 contestants of various levels.
There will be lot of demonstrations and exchanges as well as sightseeing opportunities. It is definitely a great opportunity to participate such an amazing event and at the same time experience first hand the culture, history and beauty of this great civilisation.
It is truly an event for any Tai Chi practitioners, enthusiasts of all levels their friend and families.
This is also a unique opportunity for Taiji enthusiasts to visit the home of these two great Tai Chi Masters, experience and be inspired by the spirit of Taiji. During the five days event, Participant can enter Tai Chi hand and weapon forms as well as push hand competitions.
Participant will also have the opportunity to meet and exchange learning experience with athletes from China and other parts of the world.
Master Faye Yip, member of the BCCMA, executive member and technical panel of the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain, is organising a team of Tai Chi enthusiasts from the UK to attend is unique festival. The aim of this trip is to establish friendship, promote the UK Tai Chi community in the world Taiji stage and at the same time create an excellent opportunity for enthusiasts in the UK to see and feel Taiji at a global level.
This is event is going to be jam packed with exciting activities and filled with some of the world's top athletes, teachers and masters. It will definitely be one of the most fantastic Tai Chi event any enthusiasts will ever attend.
