Introduction

This trip is in association of Ronnie Robinson, head of Chiron Tai Chi, Editor of the Tai Chi Union Magazine, and organiser of the Ti Chi Caledonia.

We will visit the capital of China, Beijing to see some of China's best cultural sites and practise one of the most popular health Qigongs (Yijinjing Qigong) with one of Beijing's famous Qigong Masters, Li Jian Wei, we will also practise Tai Chi Push Hand with one of the most highly regarded teacher in China, former push hand coach for Beijing Team, Master Liu Qin Zhou.

As well as training in Beijing, we will also travel to meet Tai Chi enthusiasts from the home of Yang & Woo family Tai Chi, it is defintely a enlightening visit.

Visit to the Wudang Mountain, Taoist sacred mountain, legendary birth place of Tai Chi, admire the breathtaking scenery will defintely be an inspiring experience.

Beijing (Capital of China full of Culture and properity)

  • Great Wall - First of the new seven wonders of the world
  • Forbidden city - the world famous imperial palace of five hundred years
  • Temple of Heaven - on of the most unique temple in the world where emperors of last 600 years preyed for harvest, peace and good fortune for the people and country.
  • Beihai Park - Beautiful imperial Gardens for hundreds of years, beautifully built with amazing pavillions, lake and temple.
  • Silk Factory to see how silk is farmed and weaved into beautiful garments (Gulit, Suits and beddings)
  • Tai Chi & Qigong training with World famous Tai Chi Masters Professor Li Deyin, Master Li Jian Wei - 2 full day and 2 half days on Yang Style Taiji (24 Step Hand Form & 32 Step Sword form) and Yi Yinjing Health Qigong suitable for enthusiasts or their families of all levels and styles.
  • Tai Chi in the park - moring visit to a park to see people practise Tai Chi in the park and exchange experiences with enthusiasts of China.

Handan (Home city of the Great Yang & Woo Style Tai Chi Founders)

  • Visit the Old City Wall with over 2000 years of history
  • Meeting Tai Chi Enthusiasts in the Park - exchange experiences, push hand with the masters in Woo/Hao Style
  • Visit the family residence of the great Yang Lu Chan and Woo Yu xiang, founders of Yang Style and Woo/Hao Style Tai Chi watch old msters demonstrated traditional Taiji.

Wudang Mountain (one of the most sacred mountains in Taoism and legendary home of Tai Chi)

  • Visit one of the beautifully built Taoist temple, purple Heaven palace (500 Years old) in China
  • pilgrimmage to the highest and most breathtaking temple the Golden Summit palace (2000 metres height) where you could admire the achitectural wonders of the temples and have a bird's eye view of the mountain to appreciate the natural beauty this mountain offers.
  • Qigong / Chi Kung Training session 1.5 hour (optional @ £10pp minimum 10 people) with Taoist monk
  • Watch Wudang Kung Fu Show by Toaist monks (subject to availability at the time of travel)
Itinerary

We will be flying to Beijing with an European airline or United Emerate Via a European City

There are a choice of two options, participant could choose option 1 or both options;

Option 1 - Beijing & Handan

Day 1 - Sun 18th Oct
Departure for Beijing
Day 2 - Mon 19th Oct
Arriving at Beijingin the afternoon, Check into hotel and rest for the day
Day 3 - Tuesday 20th Oct
Yi Jin Jing Qigong Training 7.30am – 10.00am and exchange experience with Tai Chi enthusiasts in the park then visit the Temple of Heaven, afternoon visit to the Beihai Park, royal garden for Emperors of last few hundred years. Visit Silk Factory to see how silk is farmed and made into duvets and pillows!
Day 4 - Wednesday 21st Oct
Yi Jin Jing Qigong Training 8.30am – 11.00am , Tianmen Square (the biggest city square in the world) and Forbidden City (magnificent palace with a thousand years of history).
Day 5 - Thursday 22nd Oct
Visit the “Mu Tian Yu” section (one of the most breathtaking part of the wall) of Great Wall, one of the new seven wonders of the world, and admire this thousand year old architecture, Jade Factory to learn how to distinguish real jade from the fakes
Day 6 - Friday 23rd Oct
1) Yi Jin Jing Qigong Training 9.30am – 12.30pm (2hrs lunch).
2) Push hand training 2.30-5pm

Day 7 - Sat 24th Oct
1) Yi Jin Jing Qigong Training 9.30am – 12.30pm (2hrs lunch).
2) Push hand training 2.30-5pm
Day 8 - Sunday 25th Oct
Morning train to Handan city, the home city of Yang and Woo/Hao Family
Day 9 - Monday 26th Oct
Morning visit to the old town and city wall of Yongnian town, visit the residence of Yang Lu Chan and Woo Yu Xiang, founders of Yang and Woo Style. See old masters demonstrate orthodox Yang and Woo Tai Chi.
Day 10 - Tuesday 27th Oct
Morning Tai Chi exchanges in the park with enthusiasts of Yang and Hao family style in Handan and exchange experience in Pushing hands, Overnight train to Wudang mountain. Option 1 return to Beijing.
Day 11 - Wed 28th Oct
Departure for the UK ………….Or Option 2

Option 1 + Option 2 - Beijing, Handan & Wudang Mountain

Day 11 – Wed 28th Oct
Arrive at noon in Wudang Mountain and visit the South Cliff and Check into hotel on the mountain
Day 12 - Thurs 29th Oct
Morning Qigong practice with Taoist monk. (7 - 8am). Visit Wudang ‘s main Temple “The Purple Palace” and one of the highest temples in China the "Golden Summit" Temple, where you can enjoy the breathtaking view of this sacred mountain. Overnight train to Beijing.
Day 13 - Friday 30th Oct
Arrive at lunch time and check into hotel and rest for the day. Evening Farewell Dinner.
Day 14 - Sat 31st Oct
Free Activity for the day (Lunch, Dinner and tranports not included). Good for last minute shoping for present and souvenir or visit to other attractions of interest (Lama Temple, Confusicious Temple, Hutong - narrow lanes with over 1000 years of history etc..)
Day 15 – Sunday 1st Nov
Depart for UK (via a European city)

To Book

Anyone who is interested in attending the festival, is reuqired to fill in a booking form and send it to us together with a deposit of £400.00 (non refundable after 15th August). Remainder of the fee and fee for the international air tickets need to be paid by the end of August.

Payment Method
Participant could either pay in full at time of booking by Cheque (Cheque made payable to Tai Chi Link) or credit card (there will be a 3% admin charge for credit card payment), or by instalment.

please note that people planing to travel to Beijing from airports outside the UK will have to purchase their own flight tickets. However, one of our representitives will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel to join the group.
