This is one of the earliest excersises practiced by Shaolin monks. It was said that early in the tang dynasty Ba Duan Jin was crated by Lingqiushan. An eminent monk of the Shaolin temple who lived to the age of 109. Ba Duan Jin strengthens the bones and muscles which in turn improves blood circulation regulating the qi and blood and also promotes a healthy metabolism. Practiced for a long time it can improve your immune system which increases your resistance to disease and can prolong your life.
